  • The 2008 World Car Of The Year Finalists Are...
    In about two to three weeks from now, the auto industry will be closing the auto show season with a grand finale -- the World Car of the Year (WCOTY) Awards at the New York International Auto Show. The WCOTY Awards is divided into three categories: the 2008 World Car, the 2008 World Performance Car and, finally, the 2008 World Green Car. Public show dates are on March 21 to 30.

    Automakers are now in a hype to cut fuel costs. General Motors, the world's number one automaker is planning to strengthen the production of its plug-in Chevrolet Volt, the first vehicle application of GM's new E-Flex platform. On each side of the car are two plugs to allow home charging.

"HUMMER continues to set the standard with a Web site that satisfies shoppers through fast performance and streamlined navigation.

  • Lexus To Debut 'High-Efficiency' Hybrid
    Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota, will introduce a more fuel-efficient hybrid in 2008 to lure affluent buyers of models such as the popular Prius, the best-selling hybrid in America. The automaker intends to unveil the hybrid-only model at the Detroit Auto Show next year.

  • BMX X6 To Debut in Detroit
    The German automaker will make 2008 NAIAS as the world debut of its X6 Sports Activity Coupe. According to BMW, the X6 will be the first Sports Activity Coupe model in the automotive market. The vehicle will feature two powertrain variants - the xDrive50i and the xDrive35i.
