New guy - Mustang 2010 GT performance help Hi, I'm on my 3rd straight Mustang GT convertible. I love my 2010, but I made the HUGE mistake of driving the 2011. I tried to trade for the 2011 but I'm not going to give away $$ like the salesman(s) wanted. So, I'm looking at adding some HP to my 2010. I recently replaced the cast intake and 2 barrel carb on the car with an aluminum intake and a 600cfm AFB carter carb. When I swapped the parts out I marked my distributer but the engine got bumped so I had to retime my 289. I hand turned the car until I got TDC on the balancer and I put my finger in the number 1 spark plug and felt the... 66 Disc/drum master cylinder I have a 66 with front discs, rear drums and the "original" 66 single pot disc/drum master cylinder. The upgrade was done by a previous owner (which is why I'm not sure how it's supposed to be plumbed). The brakes work OK but it seems like the pedal comes up just a bit if I pump the pedal once when stopping. The master cylinder has two outlets on the front (one straight out the front and one b... Why the catalytic converter would get clogged I have a 98 4.6 GT..found that my left side cats are clogged.. Would like to know what would cause it to do so. Vic semi synthetic oil to use or not Having recently aquired my 1965 289 Mustang I am now thinking about dealing with the mucky bits and changing the oil to begin with. I dont know what oil was used last time it had a change and am thinking of 1040 sae semi synthetic oil. any thoughts on if this is the best oil for the engine or not?
